Leon C. Adsit, 92, of Burrows, died at 4:30 a.m., April 20, 2004, at Miller's Merry Manor, Logansport.

Born April 10, 1912, in Olustee, Oka., he was the son of Clinton Samuel and Lily May McDade Adsit. He had resided in the Burrows community for 55 years.

He married Mable E. Arion on April 15, 1939, in Delphi, and she survives.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the South Pacific.

Mr. Adsit had worked for Rockwell International at Logansport as a spring coiler.

He was a member of the Lockport Chruch and American Legion Post 75, Delphi. He was a former Boy Scout leader and PTA member, a former member of the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department, and a former Sunday school superintendent. He had been an avid gardener and woodcutter.

Also surviving are two sons, Stan Adsit of Indianapolis and David Adsit of Royal Center; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Cree Funeral Home with Pastor Nord Zootman officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in Burrows Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Indiana.
