In about 1910 the Adsit family left their home in Milford, Illinois moving west in a covered wagon for Olustee, Oklahoma. After a few years of western frontier living, the family decided to return back east. Without immediate family left in Milford, the family moved to Delphi, Indiana where Clint Adsit's sister Sarah Gordon had been living. The Adsit family arrived in Delphi in 1913 as the town was recovering from the Great Flood. In the Great Flood Aunt Sarah had to be rescued from the second story window of her Delphi home by boat.
