Pearl McKay, 84, 307 N. Indiana St., Delphi, died unexpectedly Friday, July 12, 1985 in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. She was admitted earlier in the day.

Mrs. McKay was born October 25, 1900, in Milford, Ill., to Clinton and Lilly McDade Adsit. Her marriage was in 1920 in Colburn to Robert McKay and he preceded in death in 1930.

She worked as a cook at Sam’s Fish House in Pittsburg for 38 years. Mrs. McKay attended the First Baptist Church, Delphi. She moved to Delphi as a young girl and was a resident here the rest of her life.

Surviving are two daughters, Mildred Farner, Mary Loud Smothers, both of Delphi; two sons, Leo "Gene", Lafayette, Herbert, Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are three sisters, Gertrude Schutz, Lafayette,; Dora Gano, Clarks Hill, Dorothy Haskins, Burnettsville; one brother, Leon Adsit, Burrows. Twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren also survive. One infant son and one sister preceded in death.

Services were held Monday at the Horn Funeral Home with Dr. Elwood Smith officiating. Burial was in Morning Heights Cemetery.
