Doris Eberhart (February 20, 1930 - March 27, 2008)

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at the United Methodist Church with burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery both in New Hartford, Iowa.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the church in New Hartford and 1 hour prior to the service. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg (319)346-1534 is in charge of the arrangements.

Doris Virginia Eberhart, age 78, of New Hartford, Iowa, was born the daughter of William and Margaret (Hines) Carnicle on February 20, 1930, Strawberry Point, Iowa. She received her education from a country school near Edgewood, Iowa.

On June 11, 1947, Doris was united in marriage with Robert Lee Eberhart in New Hartford, where they made their home and remained living their entire marriage. In 1964 Doris began waitressing in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at Coles Café and then at Marietta's Gay 90. For 32 years Doris owned and operated Michels 101 Tavern in New Hartford, until she retired in 1999.

Doris attended the United Methodist Church in New Hartford and she was a membert of the New Hartford American Legion ladies Auxiliary for many years. Doris enjoyed running her bar and it was her life. She made many friends throughout the years. She enjoyed her early morning walks, giving ice cream to her grandchildren and making graham cracker cream pies. Doris always did her shopping on Thursdays and enjoyed going out to eat at Bishop's Restaurant when she was finished. Whenever the kids were around she always had pizza ready for them.

In 2004 Doris moved to the Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She died there on Thursday, March 27, 2008, of natural causes. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eberhart; one son, Craig Allen Eberhart; one grandson, Larry Joe Eberhart; two step-grandsons, Kenneth Dean and Michael Wildeboer; her parents; three brothers, Gary, Carroll and Bobby Carnicle; and two sisters, Helen Bowers and JoAnn Carnicle.

Doris is survived by two sons, Terry (Bonnie) Eberhart of Sterling, Virginia, and Gary (Brona) Eberhart of New Hartford, Iowa; two daughters, Vicky (William) Dean of New Hartford, Iowa, and Roxane (Larry) Wildeboer of Coulter, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Tracy Wildeboer, Jay (Stephanie) Callan, Chad (Jacque) Eberhart, Ryan Eberhart, Blaine Eberhart, Tosha Eberhart, Rick Lee Eberhart and Robert Eberhart; four step-grandchildren, Kathy Dean, Troy (Irene) Hall, Tony Hall and Tammy (Joe) Lier; ten great grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; one brother, Lyle Carnicle of Strawberry Point, Iowa; and three sisters, Pauline Bowers of Council Bluff, Iowa, Gloria (Don) Burns of Council Bluff, Iowa, and Grace Voshell of Gentry, Arkansas.
