Luetta, daughter of Geo. and Theresa Morrison, was born May 27, 1865, near Savannah, Mo., and departed this life March 17, 1939, at Concordia, Kansas. She grew to womanhood in the community in which she was born.

She was married to Wm. Franklin Minteer, Dec. 30, 1886. Three children were born to this union: George Earl, Flossie Mae, and Gladys Winifred. Her husband and two children, George Earl and Gladys Winifred, preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Flossie Cornell, of Rea, Missouri, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jessie Minteer, of Kansas City, Kansas, five grandchildren: Geneva Hunt, who was raised by her grandparents, Claude Minteer, of Remer, Minn., Lorene Jarvis, of New London, Connecticut, Glen Minteer, Kansas City, Kansas, Billy Cornell, of Rea, Mo., and one great-granddaughter, Delores Rockhold, of New London, Conn. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Hettie Couch, of Rea, Mo., a number of nephews and nieces, two of which were here for the funeral, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Couch and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Couch, of Elk City, Kansas.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J.A. McClellan, were held at the Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet, composed of Mrs. Ethel Thurston, Mrs. Maude Warren, B.S. Chance and L.D. Clingenpeel, accompanied by Alva Adams. They sang, "Have Thine Own Way,' ‘Going Down the Valley," and "Ivory Palaces." The body was carried to its last resting place in the Delphos Cemetery by Frank Kline, Seth Long, C.A. Sullivan, Chas. Klein, Howard Cain, and I.W. Ferris. Roy Hartley directed the funeral.

Dearest Mother, thou has left us;
Left us for the golden shore.
In that heavenly land with Jesus;
There to dwell forever more.

She has left this world of trials,
Left this sad, sad world of woe;
With the sweetest consolation
That she was prepared to go.

Though our home is sad and lonely,
And we see her vacant chair,
We must look in faith to heaven,
Think of mother waiting there.

Mother, are you watching for us?
Then we'll try to meet you there,
In that land that knows no sorrow,
In that land where all is fair.

One by one, God calls us to Him,
Ney it may be you or I;
O, if we are only ready,
Then it won't be hard to die.
