"Hettie Ann Morrison, daughter of George and Annie Morrison, was born near Savannah in Andrew County. She departed from this life Feb. 28, 1943, at her home at Rea, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 1 day.

On Aug. 27, 1877, she was united in marriage to Jasper N. Couch at Savannah. To them was born one child, Maggie Estella, who departed from this life in infancy. The husband passed away Jan. 28, 1939. She spent all her life in Andrew county, with the exception of four months in the winter of 1941 and 1942, which time she spent with her nephews and their families, Clyde and Clarence Couch of Elk City, Kan. The latter part of 1942 and up to the time of her death, she lived at her home where she was cared for by relatives. She was a woman with many friends who regret her departure.

Mrs. Couch had one brother and three sisters. They were: Charles Morrison, Isabell Crouch, Maggie Cunningham and Luretta Minteer. All preceded her in death.

The funeral service was held from the Breit funeral home on Tuesday, March 2, at 3:30 o'clock. Rev. Charles S. Macy of the Savannah Christian Church was in charge of the service. Interment was made in the Savannah cemetery." Savannah Reporter and Andrew County Democrat (Savannah, Missouri), March 12, 1943
