Eliza's mother remarried to George Morrison, a widower, about 1854.

Eliza J. Miner was listed as age 20 in the 1865 Iowa, Doniphan, Kansas state census with John & Sarah Hart and their family. By 1870 Eliza Jackson, age 25, born in Missouri, was with Charles Jackson, age 40, and a 3 month-old baby.

The 1880 Iowa, Doniphan, Kansas census lists Charles Jackson as age 50, and his wife, Eliza, as age 35. Eddie was age 11; Orley, age 5 & Arva, age 2, both listed as sons. James R. Jackson, 23, was listed as a nephew.

The 1895 Iowa, Doniphan, Kansas state census lists Charles Jackson with his wife and sons, Ed A., 23; O, 20; Leroy, 16; Wilber, 15; & E., a son, 13. This state census also records Charles' Civil War service in the 13th Kansas Infantry. His Kansas Civil War enlistment form records his enlistment at Troy, Kansas on September 1, 1862. He listed his age as 32 years and 7 months and his birth place as Washington County, Tennessee.

Eliza, widow of Charles Jackson of the 13th Kansas Infantry, received a Civil War pension in August of 1897. She remained in Doniphan County, Kansas, where she was listed with sons in 1900, 1905, 1910, 1915, & 1920 census reports. The 1900 census lists her as the mother of 8, with 5 living.
