"Zack Shatto died at his home in Bowman township yesterday evening, aged 73 years. Mr. Shatto came to Sullivan county about the year 1840 and remained till his death. He was the father of seven children, six of whom are still living. His remains will be placed at rest in the Shatto cemetery at 3 o'clock." The Milan Republican (Milan, Missouri), February 28, 1895
