Maggie Hazel Self Capps, 89, passed away May 25, 1986 in Vernon, Texas. She was born in Thalia, Texas on January 18, 1897 to Mark L. and May Pigg Self. She married Harley Capps in Thalia Texas in 1919. Maggie was a woman of many talents with her specialties being painting and crochet. She was an avid historian, writer and hunter of relics and antiques. Both sides of her family, the Selfs and the Piggs, were pioneer settlers in the Thalia community. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her son, Duane Capps of Vernon, Texas and 2 grandchildren, Harletta Carthel of Friona, Texas and Marshall Capps of Lockett, Texas. She had 5 siblings, Clyde, Grace, Isabel, Roy and Gordon.
