Ray Barnett, age 101, died Monday evening, August 24, 1992 at his daughter's home in Ft. Madison, Iowa.

Ray Barnett was born June 27,1891 in Keosauqua, Iowa, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Priscella Huffman Barnett. On November 15, 1915 in Keosauqua, Iowa Ray married Linnet Slutts. She died August 20, 1981.

Mr. Barnett was a retired farmer and Hillsboro City employee. He spent most of his life in Hillsboro community.

He is survived by two sons, James, of Fairfield, Iowa and Lex, of Exmore, Virginia; 6 daughters, Georgia Ellis of Keota; Leona Sanderson of Hillsboro; Beulah Shilling and Anna M. Workman, both of Fairfield, Charlotte Wallerick of Danville and Mary Faught of Fort Madison; two sisters, Phyllis Marshall and Vera Heisel, both of Stockport; 36 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, a daughter, three brothers and two sisters.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield.
The graveside committal service for Mr. Barnett will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillsboro Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Parker officiating.
A memorial has been established.
