Phyllis M. Marshall, 96, of Mount Pleasant, formerly of Hillsboro, died at the Pleasant Manor Care Center.

Born in Keosauqua, she was the daughter of Benjamin F. and Priscilla E. Huffman Barnett. She married Theodore R. Marshall on July 18, 1926, in Keosauqua. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Christian Church in Douds and the Hillsboro Christian Church. She worked at Kennedy's Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant and at Moore's Nursing Home in Stockport. She was a cook at the café in Stockport, prior to her retirements.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Hudson of Mount Pleasant and Wilma Burghoffer of Donnellson; eight grandchildren; 15 great–grandchildren; 19 great–great–grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral was held at the Hillsboro Christian Church, with the Rev. Dave Callen officiating.
