Jeanne' Baird Thorup was born January 25, 1929, and passed away on February 11, 2024, shortly after celebrating her 95th birthday. She was born in American Fork, but quickly moved to the Salt Lake Valley where she spent the rest of her life. She grew up in Salt Lake, spent most of her married years in Holladay, and retired in Sandy.

Jeanne' was united in marriage to Wally Thorup in the Salt Lake Temple on September 15, 1947, embarking on a journey that will continue eternally. Together they nurtured a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories.

Jeanne's life was defined by service and faith. She dedicated herself to the service of others, exemplified by her three full-time LDS missions with her husband to Tennessee, Nauvoo, and New Zealand, as well as seven service missions. Her commitment to her faith and her community left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Beyond her remarkable service, Jeanne' had a profound love for the beauty of nature and spent quality time with family members traveling to beautiful places. She was a talented artist, had a cheery personality, had a great love for animals, and most important, a deep affection for each member of her family. Blessed with visits from many family members, in the end she peacefully passed into the next life holding her granddaughter Angie's hand. Her legacy of love, kindness, and selflessness will continue to inspire generations to come.

She is survived by her three loving children, Ann, Reid (Eve), and John (Leslie), along with 13 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law Delpha Baird and three special family friends, Peggy, Maria, and Queue. Jeanne' was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wally (D. Wallace Thorup), her parents Marion Lester and Lavon Thomson Baird, and her brother Steven Baird, all of whom she held dear in her heart.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 16th, at 12:00 pm, followed by a funeral at 1:00 pm in the LDS chapel at 1409 W Shields Lane, South Jordan, UT. An additional viewing will take place the night before on Thursday, February 15th, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home at 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, UT. Interment will be in the Salt Lake Cemetery.

Jeanne's final words were "Thank you" and "I love you". We are confident she'd like us to thank the staff and volunteers at Legacy House of South Jordan for all they did for her in her final days.
