Marion Lester Baird, age 98, born Feb. 28, 1898 in High Creek, Cache, Utah, died April 4, 1996.

Son of Hyrum Lester Bair and Harriet Armina Skidmore. Married Lavon Thomson, June 17, 1925 in the Logan LDS Temple. Veteran of World War I. Worked as manager for J.C. Penney and department manager for ZCMI. High Priest in LDS Church, served as Scoutmaster, served a Bonneville Stake mission and a full-time mission with his wife in Nauvoo, Illinois. Was a Salt Lake LDS Temple worker for 18 years.Survived by his wife, Lavon; son, Steven T. Baird (Delpha); daughter, Jeanne' B. Thorup (Wally); 11 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services Tuesday, April 9, 1996, 1 p.m., Olympus 3rd Ward, 4100 So. Camille (2480 East). Friends may call at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 1300 South, Monday 6-8 p.m. and noon to 12:45 p.m. at church prior to services. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park.
