Mrs. Hamlet Dies at 57
Mrs. Gertrude McCarthy Hamlet, 57, of 117 Woicott Avenue, died yesterday at home after a heart attack.
A Syracuse life resident, she was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's College, Morristown, New Jersey. She was a supply teacher in Syracuse public school system. She was a member of the National Federation of Teachers and a part-time employe of P. R. Quinlan & Co., a family owned business.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard A. Hamlet; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas L. Wavle; two sons. Mark J. and Stephen P. Hamlet; her mother, Mrs. Hugh P. McCarthy; six sisters, Mrs Edmund F. Brown, Mrs. Agnes Standerwick, Mrs. Bernard P. Kerrigan, Mrs. John E. Pollock, Miss Marion McCarthy and Mrs. Francis Caliva; two brothers, Albert J. of Cazenovia and Robert Q. McCarthy; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow at Edward J. Ryan Funeral Home. A solemn requiem high Mass will be celebrated at 9 in St. Ann's Church, Taunton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
There may not be a marker at Gertrude's resting place.
