Genevieve Juanita (Gomez) Candelaria gained her wings surrounded by her immediate family, Friday, August 25, 2023, at the age 91. She was born June 24, 1932, to Agapita and Juan Cristobal Gomez in her grandmother's home in Dulce, NM, she was raised with 7 sisters and 3 brothers at the family ranch in Frances, NM. She is proceeded in death by her husband Pablo Candelaria (1976) her parents, siblings; Gregorita Jaquez, Matilde Martinez, Agapita Abeyta, Manuelita Jacques, Juan Cristobal Gomez II, Delfinita Chavez, José Gomez, Ruby Jacquez, Celso Gomez; and her grandson, Colton Candelaria. Her brother in-laws, Donald Candelaria, Fidel Candelaria.

She is survived by her children Lenny Candelaria (Bernadette), Stephanie Martinez (Carlos), Chris Candelaria (Lori), Franco Candelaria (Sylvia) and Paulette Candelaria. Grandchildren; Leo Candelaria (Janelle), Antonette Cordova (James), Christina Miller (Chirs) Matthew Candelaria, Alexandria Talamante (Daniel), Carlitos Martinez (Danielle), Candice Erstad (Eric), Erica Candelaria (Mikeal), Gabriel Candelaria (Kaitlin), Steven Candelaria (Maurissa), Pablo Martinez (Frances), Mark Candelaria (Danielle), Azzia Sadler (Jordan), Jacob Spencer (Jessica), Sophia Candelaria and Cody Candelaria. 24 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Her Sister Beatrice Rodriguez, her sister in-law Cruzelia Montoya (Pat), Paul Michael Candelaria (Belinda), Nick Candelaria (Carmen) and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, Godchildren and extended family and friends.

She attended 1st and 2nd grade in Dulce, NM. With one of her sisters, Agapita as a teacher. In 1943, she then attended Sacred Heart Boarding School in Waterflow, NM, with her siblings. In 1948, she moved to Aztec NM, and attended Aztec High School and graduated in 1951. After graduation she worked as a recorder for the San Juan County Clerk's Office, until she married the love of her life Pablo Candelaria on February 7th, 1957, in Aztec, NM at St. Josephs Church. They moved to Ignacio, CO and managed the Tee-Pee Lounge for 3 years. In 1960 they moved to Blanco, NM to raise their family and ran the Candelaria Family Ranch.

She was steadfast in her Catholic faith and was a devoted parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Blanco, NM. She was on the parish council, taught CCD, was a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the choir, The Ladies Guild and a faithful member of The Legion of Mary. Her faithfulness to our Lord was an inspiration to all, and we know she is now embraced in our Lord's loving arms.

A rosary service will be recited on Friday, Sept. 1st at 7 pm at St. Rose Catholic Church in Blanco, NM. A Mass to celebrate her life will held Saturday, Sept. 2nd at 9am at St. Rose Catholic Church in Blanco, NM, burial and reception to follow.
