Speck of San Marcos State Teachers' college ( now Texas State University) with Dean Speck officiating. Speck and Hazel are cousins. Hazel and Joel had no children and later were divorced.

On 5 July 1946 Hazel married Thomas Ryan Weir at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. E.E. Pittman with Rev. W. R. White, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Pittman's lived in Austin, Travis Co., TX. She and Thomas lived in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX. and then moved to Indianpolis, Ind. When Thomas died on 3 March 1962, Hazel remained in Indianpolis until she sold her home on 7 Sep 1973 and moved back to Austin, Travis Co., TX. They had no children.
