" CHARLEY CLINGER, AGED 12 YEARS, DIED ON TRAIN FROM EFFECTS OF BITE OF A CAT.
Charley Clinger, aged 12 years, who was bitten by a rabid cat near Taylor some time ago, died yesterday on the train while in compnay with his father en route to the Pastuer Institute in Chicago. The remains were shipped to this city for interment and will buried today from the undertaking establishment of E.S. Rosengren.
Three children of Mr. Charley Clinger, who lives near Taylor, were bitten last week by a rabid cat, and he at once prepared to take them to the Pasteur Institute at Chicago, and was on his way there when his 12-year old son died on the train. The remains of the deceased was prepared for burial at once and shipped here. Mr. Clinger and his other children continued their journey to Chicago.
The interment will be at Pilot Know today at 2 p.m."

NOTE - I am not aware of this family living near Taylor. The 1900 and 1910 TX. census shows in Travis Co.

The other children may have been Henry, Hattie or Lillian. Addie and Norman ( ages 19 and 16 ) by his first wife were probably working.

The only available treatment for rabid in those days was in Chicago, IL.
