Betty was born March 23, 1926, to Frank and Edna McConnell in Merced, California. Betty met and married her lifelong partner at the end of the war on August 8, 1945, and they have been together for 71 years. Ben and Betty moved back to Louisiana in the early fifties, where he attended LSU and she raised the family. Betty was a stay at home wife and mother where she raised her four children. They enjoyed traveling across the country.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sheila Ramirez, granddaughters Annette Adams Bruno, Paula Ann Bergeron, grandson James Paul Bergeron Jr, her parents Frank and Edna McConnell, sisters Phyliss McConnell Walters, and Catherine McConnell Adams.
She was survived by her husband, two daughters, a son, four grandsons, two granddaughters, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
