Louise M. Matson, 91 years, of Fremont, NE passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Nye Pointe in Fremont.

Louise was born on October 6, 1931 to James Henry and Julia Helen (Christensen) Fritz in Merna, NE.

She grew up in the Merna and Anselma area, and came to Fremont in 1949.

On October 4, 1974, she married Claus M. Matson in Schuyler, NE.

Louise worked at Al's Café for many years.

She served a president of the VFW #854 Auxillary of Fremont from 1995 to 1997. She also served as a past Grand Chaplain of the Military Order of Cooties from 1996 to 1997.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Claus; daughters, Donna Hass and Cheryl Smith; brothers, Lyle and Larry "Dean" Fritz; and sisters, Vivian Mecham and Darlene Panowicz.

She is survived by her sons, James Callaway and Terry Wright; daughter, Linda (Robert) Roop; stepdaughters, Claudia Retynski and Karen Andrews; brothers, Duane Fritz and Leonard Fritz; sisters, Arlene (Stan) Vhylidal, Donita Krumback, Judy Cook, and Betty (Mike) Swicker; 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 28, 2023 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Chaplain Scott Jensen will officiate.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Moser's.

Burial will take place at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
