Born on April 4, 1929, in Knoxville, TN, she was a daughter of the late John and Ada (Metalbarger) Clapp. On October 19, 1952 in Waldron, IN, Mary married Herbert D. Bowman, who survives.
Mary was a graduate of Waldron High School and a retired bookkeeper for JC Penney.
Surviving along with her husband are one daughter; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by a son, Herbert M. Bowman; grandson, Joel M. Bowman; son-in-law, Rick Reynolds; and 13 siblings.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Gundrum Funeral Home with Jared Wiseley officiating. Burial will follow at Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
