Funeral service for Fred Wayne Johnson, Sr., age 83, of Trinity, will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marcus Lipscomb officiating. His family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Midway Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Johnson, who died Monday, July 10, 2023, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born April 6, 1940, in Alabama to Robert Franklin Johnson and Cora Obie Bates Johnson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Johnson; his parents; four brothers, Jimmy Johnson (Caroline), Edward Johnson (Hazel), Leldon Ronnie Johnson (Martha Beaty), and Hollis Johnson; two grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was a logger with Henderson Logging.
He is survived by three sons, Fred Johnson, Jr. (Sherry), Roy Johnson, and Scott Johnson (Bobbie); one daughter, Belinda Waters (Heath); two sisters, Elaine Holsomback (Jim) and Shirley Braswell; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Billy Johnson, Luke Johnson, Dan Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, and Alex Waters.
