Funeral for Edward V. "Ed" Johnson, 75, of Trinity will be Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron McKay officiating.
Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Johnson, who died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at his residence, was born Nov. 4, 1931, in Morgan County to Robert Johnson and Obie Bates Johnson. He was retired from Champion Paper. As Airman First Class with the United States Air Force, he served as Gunner on a B-29 Bomber with the 381st Bomb Squadron, 310th Bomb Wing. He was preceded in death by his brother, Hollis Johnson, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Johnson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Hazel Coleman Johnson of Trinity; one son, Robert Johnson, and wife, Leona, of Decatur; one daughter, Cecelia Davis, and husband, Eddie, of Decatur; three brothers, Jimmy Johnson and wife, Carolyn, of Texas, Leldon Johnson and wife, Martha, of Decatur, and Fred Johnson and wife, Donna, of Trinity; two sisters, Elaine Holsonback and husband, Jim, of Hartselle and Shelley Braswell of Trinity; and five grandchildren, Chris Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Erica Allen and Nicholas Davis, all of Decatur.
Pallbearers will be Chris Johnson, Sonny Johnson, Nick Davis, Rodney Lowery, Austin Lowery and Johnny Kirby.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Lowery and Ronald Johnson.
