DANIEL CALIMER, 89, of 10202 Old Forge Road, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, in the Guilford Convalesarium, Fayetteville. He had been in failing health for the past four years and was admitted to the nursing home in 1982.
Born in Quincy Township, July 8, 1894, he was the son of the late John and Charlotte (Moser) Calimer. He had lived in the Old Forge and Glen Furney area all his life. He and his wife had made their home at the present residence since their marriage in November, 1921.
Calimer served in the U.S. Army with the AEF in France during World War I.
As a young man he was employed at the Samuel Dixon Hospital for a number of years and later worked at Landis Tool Co. He was last employed in construction work as a carpenter.
He was a member o f the Eagles Club Inc. and the VFW.
In addition to his wife, Mrs. Ethel M. (Zeigler) Calimer, he is survived by these children: Jesse Calimer and Carl Calimer, both of Calimer Drive; Calvin Calimer, Mrs. Betty
Guessford and Gary Calimer, all of Old Forge Road; Mrs. Kathleen Walters, Hagerstown,and Mrs. Peggy Stoops and Alfred Calimer, both of Kissimmee, Fla. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Grace Monn, Greencastle.
Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the Grove Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Wise officiating. Burial will be in the Harbaugh
Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
