Waynesboro, Pa. - Calvin C. Calimer, 82, of 10380 Old Forge Road, died Sunday, July 27, 2008, at his home. He was born Jan. 9, 1926 in Waynesboro. He was the son of the late Daniel and Ethel Zeigler Calimer.His wife, Jean M. Knott Calimer, died Jan. 3, 1990. There were married in September 1963.He worked for 17 years at Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, as an assembler. He served with the U. S. Air Force from April 1944 to May 1946. He was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15, William Max McLaughlin VFW Post 695, Eagles Club Inc. and Order of the Owls Nest 1073, all of Waynesboro, and South Mountain (Pa.) Fish and Game.He is survived by one stepdaughter, Sandra Funk of Waynesboro; one stepson, Charles Clark Jr. of Rouzerville, Pa.; three sisters, Betty Guessford of Waynesboro, Kathleen Walters of Hagerstown and Peggy Stoops of Houston; three brothers, Alfred Calimer of South Carolina, and Carl Calimer and Gary Calimer, both of Waynesboro; seven step grandchildren; 11 step great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jesse Calimer.Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Burial will follow in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville.
