THE WEEK IN ELMER
By Mrs. E. L. Hunsaker
Mrs. J. P. Roberts Dies
---Dora Maud, daughter of J. M. and Adaline Wiggans was born Oct. 2,1884 in Elmer, Mo., and departed this life Nov. 15, 1935, age 51 years, 1 month and 13 days. She accepted Jesus as her Savior in 1903 and became a member of the Baptist church of Elmer. She was united in marriage to J. P. Roberts of Elmer, Mo., July 20, 1904. To this union four children were born, two having preceded her in death, Freida May, Dec. 19, 1907, and Ernest Lloyd, April 22, 1935. She is survived by a husband and two daughters, Mrs. Fern Parish of Troy, Mo., and Hazel of the home. A. mother, Mrs. Adaline Wiggans and a sister, Mrs. Stella Baker, both of Elmer and many other relatives and friends. Her friends were numbered by her acquaintances which were duly shown during her illness.
---She had been in poor health for several years, but it was thought her condition was improving until a few days before her passing. She was entirely rational until the last and seemed to be the first to realize the end was near and expressed her willingness even happiness in going. Her lovingness and kindness to everyone that knew her did not express the suffering she patiently bore.
---Funeral services were held at the family home Saturday, Nov. 16, 1935, at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Carl Schnieder of Atlanta. Interment was made in the city cemetery in which her loved ones rest. A large crowd attended the last rites.

We have lost our darling mother,
She has bid us all adieu.
She has gone to live in heaven,
And her form is lost to view.
Oh, that dear one, how we loved her!
Oh, how hard to give her up.
But an angel came down for her,
And removed her from our flock.

---------------Card of Thanks-------------
---We wish to express our deepest appreciation to the many kind friends and neighbors who remebered us in the loss of our dear wife and mother by their thoughtful acts of sympathy and love. Words cannot express our thanks to everyone that assisted us in any way. To Rev. Carl Schnieder, the singers, flower girls, and pallbearers and many beautiful flowers.
---Mr. J. P. Roberts, Miss Hazel Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Parish.
---Those from out of town that attended the funeral of Mrs. Maud Roberts Saturday were, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Roberts of Bevier, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Main of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. Price Wiggans of Atlanta, Mrs. Elva Young of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Nelia Dudley of Gifford, Mo. and Mrs. Willard Walker of Atlanta, Mo.
---Friends take this means of extending their heartfelt sympathy to J. P. Roberts the husband, Hazel and Fern the daughters, Mrs. Adaline Wiggans the mother, and Mrs. Stella Baker sister, and other relatives in the passing of Mrs. Maud Roberts. Our community has lost a wonderful mother and neighborn, but blessed are they who dieth in the name of the Lord.
