She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedaredge for 77 years.
Hazle was born on March 22, 1912 in Elmer, MO. The daughter of John and Dora (Wiggans) Roberts. She married Roy C. Perkins in Elmer, MO on November 21, 1936. They traveled to Ridgeway, CO on their honeymoon and stayed in Ridgeway until they moved to Cedaredge, CO in 1938. In Cedaredge they established Perkins Dairy and Hazle was a homemaker.
Hazle was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Roy C. Perkins, on May 15, 1991; her parents; sister, Fern Richmond; brother Ernest; and sons: Richard and Robert.
Hazle is survived by her daughter, Doris (Uriel) Cloud and their two children, Roxana Hardies and Kim Cloud; son, Larry (Glenda) Perkins and their two children; Jill Sturgeon and Jeff Perkins; three grandchildren from her late son, Robert: Robin Melson, Jane Leon, and Jo Perkins; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of many family and friends. She was loved by all who knew her.
Hazel enjoyed being a wife, grandmother, gardening, raising flowers, cooking for her family, visiting with friends and reading her bible daily. She was a mentor and hero to all who knew her.
