Mr. and Mrs. Richard P. Hodsdon were called to Portland by the illness and death of Mr. Hodsdons' father George Hodsdon, have returned. They were accompained by Mr. Hodsdon's mother, Mrs. George Hodsdon.

George H. Hodsdon 87 Former Superior Court Messanger died Firday in his residence at 217 Stevens Avenue. He served for 25 years as messanger under the late Judges Precival Bonney, Levi Turner and Joseph Connolly. Mr. Hodsdon was born in Turner, Nov. 21, 1859, and came to Portland in 1887. He also lived many years at Yarmouth, where he owned and operated a garage. He married teh former A. Blanche Hodsdon at Yarmouth July 6, 1888. They observed under their 59th wedding anniversary last July. Mr. Hodsdon was a member of the Masons. He is survived besides his widow by a daughter Mrs. Helen Fiske, White Hall, Mont., three sons, Roger K., Los Gatos, Calif., Richard P., South Thomaston, and Herbert S. Hodsdon, Portland, nice grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 749 Congress Street, interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Yarmouth.
