Oneta was born in Rural Creek County, Oklahoma, on July 31, 1940, to Jack Varnell and Naomi (Misner) Varnell. Following her graduation from High School, Oneta worked on several jobs, working the longest at Hissom as a Nursing Assistant. She was married to Lloyd Lewis on September 22, 1965, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. They enjoyed more than 30 years of marriage prior to Lloyd's death in 1995. Oneta was one-of-a-kind. You never had to wonder what she was thinking or how she felt about the situation. She was very plain in making her thoughts and opinions known, but underneath this, Oneta was a high-spirited woman that loved to have a good time and laugh. If you were around her while she was with her sisters and sister-in-laws or many of her friends, you could hear the sound of much laughing. She enjoyed reading, puzzles. sewing, quilting and anything that was a challenge to her. Bingo was her game and she made a point of winning most of the time. Oneta was a very accepting person to everyone. Family time to her was priceless, especially the grandchildren. Her great attitude and beautiful smile will be missed by both family and friends.

Oneta was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Naomi Varnell; husband Lloyd Lewis , and 8 siblings.

She is survived by her daughter Charlotte McCord and husband Thomas; sons Bruce Fuller and wife Aimee, Danny Fuller and wife Lena, and Lloyd Lewis, Jr.; sister Beulah McDowell; brothers Herchel Varnell and Kenneth Varnell and wife Dorothy; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
