Norma, the sixth of Jack and Naomi Varnell's twelve children, was born on the family farm in Pawnee Co., OK, and raised there, attending school in Mannford, the nearest town. She wed Gus Hart in 1948. They moved first to California, then to Sheldon, Missouri, in 1966. For 20 years, she worked at the Nevada State Hospital at Nevada, Missouri. Her interests included gardening, cooking, music and quilting, and she loved helping care for her grandchildren.
Norma is survived by her three sons, 10 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, and a great many nephews, nieces and cousins. Her parents, husband, and sisters Julia Dodd, Verla Mae Jones, Geneva Wilson, and Leitha Belmer, and brothers Gerald Varnell, Mansel Varnell, and Fred Varnell predeceased her.

Norma's obituary says she was born in Mannford, but I have it on good authority, her siblings, that she was born on the family farm in Pawnee County . just like the rest of them, plus the 1930 census gives her last address as Pawnee County.
