"Donald Neil (Red) Lyle, 75 of Main Street, Hickory, died Sunday, October 30, 1983, in the Washington Hospital, following a three week illness. Born January 28,1908, in Mt. Pleasant Township, he was the son of the late Edwin and Mary Neil Lyle. He was a member of the Hickory United Presbyterian Church. A retired custodian in the Fort Cherry School District. Mr. Lyle was a charter member of the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth McCalmont Lyle. He was the last of his family. Two brothers, Clifford Lyle and Robert Lyle and one sister, Anna Lee, are deceased. Services will be November 2 in the William Speakman Funeral Home, Houston with the Rev. Harvey O. Johnson officiating, burial in Mt. Prospect Cemetery - Observer Reporter, November 1, 1983. "
