Anne will be remembered for her great love of her family, four children, and seven grandchildren. That great love extended to include the 65 foster children she cared for during the 1970s. Eventually, Ann moved from doing foster care to opening a day care in her home, where she nurtured children for many years. "Mom Mowery" was much loved by her day care families and remained in contact with many of them throughout her life.
Retirement brought new opportunities to volunteer and serve others. Anne enjoyed helping others through her church, Midland Church of Christ. Her dedication to serving others led her to volunteering with Senior Services, where she delivered Meals on Wheels for 22 years. She truly loved caring for others.
Along with her best friend Audrey, Anne was very active in TOPS. She also enjoyed camping and travelling with friends and family.
Anne is survived by her husband, Dallas; children, Julie (Dave) Watson of Freeland, Tom (Mary) Mowery of Littleton, Colo., Patti (Richard) Payne of Travelers Rest, S.C. and Mary (Henry) Jahn of Midland; brother, Calvin Bergman of Beaverton; and sister, Nora Jean (Don) Berner of Midland. She was preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence ‘Bill' Bergman, Thomas Bergman and David Bergman; and sisters, Marjorie Arehart and Eleanor Tucker.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from the United Church of Christ, 4100 Chestnut Hill Drive. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider S.A.M.S Food Pantry or the United Church of Christ. Arrangements for Anne have been entrusted to the care of the Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Directors
