Calvin J. Bergman, 91, of Beaverton, Michigan passed away at his home on Sunday, February 28, 2016. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 16, 1925, the son of Lawrence & Myrtle (Parkinson) Bergman.

On August 4, 1962 he was united in marriage to his true love Bernice Russell in Beaverton. They shared 48 wonderful years together before she predeceased him in 2010.

Calvin was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during World War II. He was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and he was employed with the Gladwin County Road Commission as a truck driver, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 7303.

His memory will be cherished by his sons: Craig (Vicky) Bergman of Beaverton; Tim (Janet) Bergman of Beaverton; daughter: Ann (Philip) Bergman of Wisconsin; son: Jim (Shawna) Bergman of Midland. Their children blessed them with 7 beautiful grandchildren: Stephanie (Jason) Blades, Thea, Sara (Joel) Meier, Calvin, Abi, Trent and Jacob; 1 great grandchildren: Charles Meier. Waiting to receive him into his heavenly home is his wife: Bernice Bergman; parents: Lawrence & Myrtle Bergman; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Connie Mercer on Friday, March 4, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Hall-Kokotovich Funeral Home, Beaverton, Michigan. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 3-8:00 P.M. He will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Tobacco Twp. (Dale) Cemetery, Beaverton, Michigan. Those wishing to send an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers are asked to consider the Beaverton Sports Boosters.
