Beaumont: Merdia I. Young, 71, of Cherry Valley, died Tue., April 13, 1993, at Sunset Haven Convalescent Hospital in Cherry Valley as the result of cerebrovascular accident. She was born Aug. 29, 1921, in Francis, Okla. and lived in Cherry Valley for 34 years, coming from Porterville where she lived for 20 years. She was an inspection supervisor for The Deutch Company working there for 25 years. She is survived by two sons, Richard C. Young of Boise, Idaho and Steven A. Young of Cherry Valley; two daughters, Roberta Snedecor and Carol J. Coyle, both of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; five sisters, Marie Penrod of Cherry Valley, Beatrice Garrison of Loma Linda, Effie Eaton of Okla. City, Okla., Alva Crabb of Wilson, Okla. and Lois Jenkins of Upland. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Thurs., April 15, at Weaver Mortuary in Beaumont. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Fri., April 16, at Desert Lawn Cem. in Calimesa beside her husband, Robert A Young who died Oct., 25, 1992.
