CHERRY VALLEY, CA: 1888-1977: Funeral services for Jess Garrison will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 30, 1977) from the Weaver Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Robert Oliver, Minister of the Beaumont Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be in Desert Lawn Park in Calimesa beside his wife, Ora H. Garrison who passed away in 1976. Mr. Garrison, who came to Beaumont seven years ago, from Modesto, passed away Saturday (Aug. 27, 1977) at the Sunset Convalescent Hospital. He was 89. Mr. Garrison was a farmer near Healdton, Okla. before his retirement in 1955. Mr. Garrison is survived by his son, Denver Garrison of Modesto; six daughters, Mrs. Merdia Young of Cherry Valley, Mrs. Bea Byers of San Jose, Mrs. Marie Penrod of Cherry Valley, Mrs. Lois Jenkins of Beaumont; Mrs. Effie Eaton of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Mrs. Alva Crabb of Wilson, Okla; 25 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Dewey Garrison of Hilton, Okla. and a sister Mrs. Lena Kenchlow of Wilson, Okla. Friends may call at Weaver Mortuary Monday till 8 p.m.
