The dates used above are from the Gregorian calendar. Quaker religious records from the period -- which retained the Julian calendar and began the year in March -- recorded Sarah's birth on the 11th day of the 9th month, 1867 and her death on the 22nd day of the 3rd month, 1897.
She married George Dillwyn Leaver on Nov. 12, 1870. They had five children: Morris Hampton in 1872, William Cliffton in 1880, Albert Allen in 1883, Amy Edith, in 1886, and Lucy M. in 1889.
Sarah lived in Franklin Twp., Hunterdon Co. all of her life.
Her son Morris was a well known and beloved doctor in Franklin Twp.
Her deceased grandson, J.E. Stout, wrote the interesting and thorough "Facts and Fantasies of Franklin," published in 1995 by the Franklin Township Committee, Hunterdon Co., New Jersey.
Her deceased great-granddaughter, Joyce C. Leaver Carraway, was a dedicated local historian in Scotch Plains, Union Co., New Jersey.
