The dates used above are from the Gregorian calendar. Quaker religious records from the period -- which retained the Julian calendar and began the year in March -- recorded William's birth on the 23rd day of the 8th month, 1845 and his death on the 4th day of the 2nd month, 1876.
William was a farm laborer. He lived in the Cherryville section of Franklin Twp., Hunterdon Co. all of his life.
