Hannah was the youngest of seven children of Isachar Morris, a Quaker farmer, and his wife, Hannah Kester Morris.
She married Benjamin Hampton on the 10th day of the 5th month, 1815 at Monthly Meeting in Wrightstown. They had five sons: Morris in 1816, James in 1819, John T. in 1823, William Wharton in 1826, and Joseph in 1829.
Hannah moved from Wrightstown to Quakertown in 1840, when she joined the Kingwood Monthly Meeting in Quakertown. She remained a pious 'Friend' for the rest of her life.
