Fordyce – Dave Cash, 75 of Fordyce died yesterday at a Warren hospital. He was a former judge and sheriff of Cleveland County and was in the real estate business.
He moved to Fordyce from Rison in 1943. He was elected to two terms as Cleveland County Judge and sheriff in the 1930s in Rison. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Ottis Cash of Warren; four daughters, Marie Cash of Fordyce, Mrs. Noel Boyd of Rison, Mrs. Kit Smith of Pine Bluff and Mrs. Richard Miles of Atkins; three brothers, Russell and John Cash of Rison, and Ray Cash of Memphis, three sisters, Mrs. Edgar McKinnie and Mrs. Tom Fore of Grayson, La, and 11 grandchildren.
He was an uncle of country music singer Johnny Cash.
Funeral services were conducted today at Rison Baptist Church by the Rev. Harold Sadler. Burial was at Rison Cemetery by Benton Funeral Home.
