LaVonne C. Shawley, 81, of Sparta, died Monday, February 27, 2023, at her home. She was born June 30, 1941 to Ora and Bertha (Huntington) Abbott in Cataract, WI. LaVonne was married to John Shawley and together had 2 children. LaVonne and John moved to Milwaukee where LaVonne attended College to become a LPN. She was employed at Mount Carmel Nursing Home and worked there for 28 years. She retired in 2007 and she and her husband moved back to the Sparta area. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jeffery and several brothers and sisters as well as her beloved dogs.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, with Reverend Roberta Nowicki, officiating. Burial was at Cataract Cemetery
Lanham-Schanhofer Funeral Home and Cremation, Sparta, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
