Carolyn Sue "Amason" Wilson passed away in her home at Kinta, Oklahoma on February 13, 2023, at the age of 75 years 9 months.

Carolyn was born May 9, 1947 at the N.E. Cornstuble Clinic in Checotah, Oklahoma, to Elzie Boyd Amason and Della Lula "Alderson" Amason, a tenant farmer family. When Carolyn was two years of age, her father left the farm and began working at Victor School. He later worked at Spaulding Schools and then Stratford Schools where he retired and moved to Oklahoma City. Carolyn attended grade school at Spaulding and middle school at Stratford, then attended high school at Southeast High School in Oklahoma City. Carolyn came to know the Lord as he Savior while at Stratford.

While attending High School she began working at Topographic Engineering Company as a receptionist and accountant, and later become a draftsman. She met her husband-to-be while working at Topographic. After they were married, Bill Wilson was deployed with the Army Engineers to Southeast Asia, where he remained on duty for twenty months. During that deployment Carolyn wrote Bill a letter every single day and once a week she would mail him a box of chocolate chip cookies.

After Bill was discharged from the Army, Carolyn and Bill lived in Oklahoma City. They both remained employed by Topographic Engineering Company. They decided to move back to Kinta where they purchased a farm and began rearing a family. They bore two daughters. While her girls were young, Carolyn operated a childcare facility in her home. Caring for little ones whose mothers had to work at their jobs. Later, when her girls were older, Carolyn worked at Purdue Industries as a draftsman and at Johnson Construction Company as a bookkeeper. She operated Wilson Mercantile Company, a general merchandise-grocery-hardware store in Kinta. Later she worked as an insurance agent for Perryman Insurance Agency in Stigler.

Carolyn was an active member of the Kinta Baptist Church until her health failed. She served the Lord as a Youth Director for many years. Taking several trips with your Youth pupils, out of state, to teach bible school in churches when they were invited. She designed and drafted the floor plan for the new church building. She serve as Church Treasurer for several years as well.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Bill, of the home; her daughter Kindra Brown and husband, Stony, of Heavener, Oklahoma; her daughter, Lisa Daniel and husband, Bo, of Kinta, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Clara Mitchell and husband, Todd, of Talala, Oklahoma; Ross Daniel and Jesse Phay of Kinta, Oklahoma, and Jesse Brown of Kinta, Oklahoma; two great granddaughters, Braylee Daniel and Jadin Daniel; and a host of nieces and nephews, and all her friends and neighbors

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie and Della Amason; four sisters, Geneva, Dean, Jean, and Olivia; and one brother, Austin Amason.

She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Viewing will be held at Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Stigler from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 15; from 8:00 am to 7:00 on Thursday, February 16, with Family Visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm; and from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, February 17.

Graveside Services will be held at Sans Bois Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2023 with Rev. Mike Mills officiating. Interment under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler.
