Mr. Baer grew up in a farm near Colfax and graduated from Bowers High School in 1939 where he played basketball. After service in the U.S. Army, he worked for Alcoa, Studebaker, Farm Bureau Co-Op, Wayne Mills Electric and Woods Wholesale Vending where he retired from in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, shooting and his dog Brownie.
He was a member of the American Legion and National Rifle Association.
Mr. Baer is survived by two sons, Larry (Grace) Baer and Michael (Julia) Baer a step-daughter, Diana Breedlove four grandchildren, Amy Baer, Mark Baer, Rebecca Baer and Emily Baer, four step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren, four sisters, Wilma (Dean) Wiggins, Thelma (Bill) Dickson, Ann Brown andVera Leach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Oscar and a sister Gladys Stacker.
