Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Alldread Blaylock will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27, at Oliver Chapel in Winona, with burial following in Duck Hill Cemetery in Duck Hill. Rev. Larry Windham, assisted by Rev. Travis Gray, will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blaylock died of cancer on Monday, February 25, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 89.
Mrs. Blaylock was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Alldread and the widow of the late J. T. Blaylock. She was a homemaker and a member of Duck Hill Baptist Church in Duck Hill. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Thomas Blaylock, and a granddaughter, Jane Carol Blaylock.
Survivors include three daughters, Sarah Blaylock Williams of Ruleville, Callie Blaylock Briscoe of Senatobia, Peggy Blaylock Butler of Oxford; two sons, Jerry Blaylock of Clinton, Tommy Blaylock of Terry; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Lewis of Brandon; sister, Ida Williams of Raymond; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Keith Briscoe, Kevin Briscoe, Scott Holder, Todd Holder, Steve Blaylock, and Blake Holder.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Ministries, Inc., 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157.
