A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Mary Alice Granger will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Oberlin, with Father Pradeep Gali officiating.
Interment will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery, Soileau, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin.
Mrs. Granger, 102, of Oberlin, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Oak Lane Nursing Home, Eunice, LA.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking and praying the Rosary, and never met a stranger. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jacques Granger; her parents, Aurelien and Daah Chaumont; three sons, Carl Granger, Mike Granger, and Beaver Granger; five brothers; and four sisters.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include two sons, Gilroy Granger, (Diane), of Oberlin, and Gary Granger, (Marilynn) of Oberlin; two daughters, Debbie LeDoux, (Paul), of Oberlin, and Jackie Granger of Eunice; one brother, Byron Bill Chaumont of Oberlin; one sister, Ann Ward of Ringgold, Georgia; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at Rush Funeral Home, Oberlin, at 8:00 a.m. until time of departure to the church.
