Oberlin-Funeral service for Carl D. Granger Sr., 77, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Rev. Jacob Conner will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile under the direction of Allen Parish Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Funeral Home in Oberlin from 3-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to hunt, fish and cook. Carl cooked the best “everything”. He loved to joke and had a great sense of humor. Carl never met a stranger. He loved everyone and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

Carl liked to grow vegetables and enjoyed drinking his Coors Light. He worked hard to provide for his family and never missed a day of work. Carl loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Carl’s memory include his wife, Ethel, of Lafayette; his mom, Alice Granger of Oberlin; two sons, Doug Granger and wife, Mary, of Mamou, Jason Granger and wife, Kristina, of Pine Prairie; two daughters, Jan Cassidy and husband, Michael, of Jennings, Alison Granger of Lafayette; three brothers, “Gil” Granger, Gary Granger, and “Beaver” Granger and wife, Becky, all of Oberlin; two sisters, Debbie LeDoux and husband, Paul, of Eunice, Jackie Granger of Oberlin; eleven grandchildren, Elliot Cassidy, Andrew Cassidy, Charles Cassidy, Lucas Granger, Samuel Granger, Kyla Richard, Deveon Brister, Hunter Granger, Jacob Granger, Jordan Granger, and Jules Granger; one great granddaughter, Grace Granger; and one great grandson, Paxton Granger.

Carl is preceded in death by his father, Jack Granger; and one brother Michael Granger.
