Verna was born in Springfield, Illinois, on January 10, 1932, the daughter of George and Alice (Eddy) Smith. She married Howard Kramer on September 2, 1950 in Decatur. She was a homemaker who loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, and riding golf carts. She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Decatur.
Verna is survived by her children: Susan (Ben) Knapp of Decatur, Henry "Jim" (Paula) Kramer of Decatur, and Rick (Maria "Irene") Kramer of Decatur; sister Carol (Ralph) Mathes of Crossville, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home is providing cremation services for Verna. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, January 13 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home.
