Services for Frank Wernli held at Burt

Burt -- Frank P. Wernli, of Hudson, Ill.(sic), who has many times been a visitor in Burt died at Hudson Friday. His wife was Frances Kriethe, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Peter Kriethe, Kossuth pioneers. He died at Hudson Memorial hospital Friday after a month's illness.

Funeral services were held at the Berke funeral home in Hudson Monday at 10 a.m. and burial was in the Burt cemetery the same afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Kriethe family plot beside his wife who died Aug. 19, 1931. Graveside services were conducted by Rev. Samek, of the Burt Methodist church. Pallbearers were Delmar Angus, Glenn Black, Merlin Madsen, F. L. Pratt, George Manus and K. J. Smith.

Attending the services from out of town were Mr and Mrs E. H. Milieu, of Mitchell, S. D., (Mrs Milleri is the former Emma Kriethe, Mr Wernli's sister in-law); Mr and Mrs H. L. Sauermau of Sparta, Wis. (Mrs Sauermau is a niece of the late Mrs Wernli); Mr and Mrs Al Livingston, Paullina, (Mrs Livingston is Mr. Wernli's sister), Mr and Mrs Jake Bertelsen and Mrs Reese, Hudson, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Angus, of Algona.

Mr. Wernli was born at Le Mars October 15, 1876. He is survived by a brother, Otto Wernli, formerly of Whittemore, but now living in Ohio; three sisters, Mrs Livingston, Paullina, Mrs Shaeffer, and Mrs Paul, Berea, Ohio.
