The son of , Thomas Jefferson Scalf & Martha Hammonds. He married 1st to , Monie Hoskins , on October 30th , 1899. Henry & Monie had one son , Bruce. Monie died soonafter her sons birth. During the early 1900's , Henry operated a barbershop with his brothers , Dawrity & Lee. Henry eventually moved to Knoxville , TN where he became the owner of a furniture & cabinet factory. He eventually set up a chain of furniture stores. His 2nd marriage was to , Chastella Williams & together they had three children. Henry would remain in Knoxville for the remainder of his life.
