A life long resident of Shelbyville, died in his home at 258 W. Mechanic St. at 2:15 PM from injuries received in an accident at the Hodell furniture factory last Thursday. While trying to put a belt in the basement of the factory Thursday afternoon the stick which he was using slipped from his hands and the belt threw it against his throat with such a force that it inflicted a deep gash. For several minutes following the accident he laid unconscious but finally was able to climb the stairs where he was taken in charge by other employees. He had been in serious condition since the accident. It had caused internal injuries. He was born and raised in Shelbyville and had been employed at the factory for many years. He was a member of Honor and Sons of Veterans lodges and had hundreds of friends in Shelbyville and vicinity. He is buried in Forest Hill Cem. in Shelbyville, In
