Joyce Ann Savoie Talbot, 78, a native and resident of Houma, died at 7:02 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Gilbert "Gip" Talbot Sr.; one son, Gilbert "Gil" Talbot Jr. and Deborah Talbot; one daughter, Melinda Talbot Lantrip and William Tieken; four grandchildren, Sunny Lantrip, Lindsay Talbot, Layne Lantrip, and Gibert "Gibby" Talbot III; and her brothers Weldon Savoie and Carroll Savoie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Stella Roger Savoie; and her brother, Irvin "DoDo" Savoie.

She resided in Montegut for 57 years and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends. She will be forever remembered for her coconut cakes and pralines.
