A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 18 at Annunziata Catholic Church in Houma for Irvin J. "DoDo" Savoie, 72, a native of Cut Off and resident of Houma, who died at 10 p.m. July 29, 2001.
He donated his body to Tulane Medical Center for education and research.
He was the husband of Patricia Lapeyrouse Savoie; father of Cody Savoie of Houma, Barry Savoie of Ridgeland, Miss., Patricia Savoie Chauvin of Raceland, Melia Savoie of Houma and Kerri Savoie of Bayou Blue; grandfather of Lacy Savoie of Houma, Chase and Courtney Savoie of Ridgeland and Starr Brashear of Bayou Blue; and brother of Weldon Savoie of Bourg, Carroll Savoie of Houma and Joyce Savoie Talbot of Montegut.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel A. and Stella Rogers Savoie; and daughters, Maria and Gay Savoie.
He was a retired salesman of oilfield equipment and supplies.
Donations to the family are preferred.
